What is an oculofacial plastic surgeon

An Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon (also called an oculoplastic plastic surgeon or an ophthalmic plastic surgeon) is a board-certified ophthalmologist trained in the delicate cosmetic surgeries of the eye who also completed additional vigorous training focused on the eyelids, eye socket, tear drainage system, and face.

Oculofacial plastic surgeons treat a variety of medical conditions including droopy eyelids and drooping eyebrows that impair vision, skin cancer around the eyes, facial trauma, tearing problems, muscle spasms of the eyelids and face, and eye socket problems.

Oculofacial plastic surgeons are also specially trained in cosmetic issues of the eyes and face including puffy eyelids and eyelid bags as well as wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and facial aging. As oculofacial plastic surgeons, our goal is to help you look your best while understanding that the comfort and health of your eyes are of paramount importance.
