Dr. Bearden has practiced in Richmond since 2004 after completing his oculofacial plastic surgery fellowship in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Bearden brought the transconjunctival blepharoplasty to Richmond when he began practice here and has fine-tuned that technique ever since, including introducing the fat-transposition blepharoplasty to the area in 2012. He continues to refine this state-of-the-art procedure, which produces the most natural-appearing results and addresses both the eyelid bags and deflated cheeks when needed.

He underwent resident training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he was also an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate in medical school. This was followed by an internship at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, as well as an externship in Vienna, Austria. A native of Alabama, Dr. Bearden did his undergraduate studies as a Presidential Scholar at the University of Alabama. He is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Bearden specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid and facial surgery, as well as cosmetic laser skin treatments.
